Food pairing
Only 245 cases of 2022 were made. This wine is only served in the Bernardus Tasting Room and the Bernardus Lodge. Only a very small amount was exported to the Netherlands.
The excellent terroir, due to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean benefits from early morning mist, mild sunny afternoons and deep, well-drained soils. Perfect for cool climate grapes. The soils are granite, which allows the vines to root deeply and produce strong vines with high quality grapes. After harvest, the wine is fermented in small French barrels and hand-stirred every two weeks for added richness and complexity. The wine is then aged for 10 years in 100% French oak, 33% of which is new. This creates a complex and very rich wine, which is only released after 12 months in bottle. Deep gold in colour. Very rich aromas of white fruit, gingerbread and pineapple. Very bold and complex with tropical fruit, toasted oak, vanilla and clotted cream. Round, buttery, rich style of Chardonnay with a long finish.

Fond memories of our "founder"
“In America I wanted to make wines that can compete with the best wines in the world and be accessible to everyone. Maybe not every day, but every day that you want to make more beautiful. We have worked with everything to create a wine collection that meets this ambition and believe that we have succeeded”
