The Single Vineyard, Garys' was planted by two of Santa Lucia Highlands' iconic winemakers, Gary Pisoni and Gary Franscioni. Together they have brought worldwide attention to the Santa Lucia Highlands. This region is now known for its exceptional quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. Wines that are among the best in the world. We are proud that as Bernardus we are one of the few to receive grapes from this beloved Single Vineyard.

The vineyard is planted on a gentle slope, benefiting from a cool sea breeze. The soil drains very well, which ensures deep roots and concentrated fruit. What makes this wine even more special is that a special clone of the Pinot Noir grape, originating from Burgundy, has been planted. All this together creates a wine with a style all its own, with an astonishing depth, expressive red fruit and mineral notes.

The grapes are hand-picked, selecting only the best fruit. The wine is aged for 10 months in oak barrels before bottling.

Light garnet red in colour. Pleasant complex aromas of ripe red fruit, herbs, minerals and flowers. Very typical for this vineyard. Exuberant and soft in taste with cherries, ripe red fruit, toast, vanilla, and sweet spices. In the long aftertaste you discover new flavours again and again.

Fond memories of our "founder"

“In America I wanted to make wines that can compete with the best wines in the world and be accessible to everyone. Maybe not every day, but every day that you want to make more beautiful. We have worked with everything to create a wine collection that meets this ambition and believe that we have succeeded”
